From The Record
The Tablet’s Christopher Lamb speaks with Perth Archbishop and Plenary Council President the Most Rev Timothy Costelloe SDB and Brisbane Archbishop and ACBC President the Most Rev Mark Coleridge. Topics included Australia’s landmark plenary council, the highest form of gathering for a local Church. The council is one of the leading examples of synodality in today’s Church, an attempt to implement a vision of Spirit-led renewal which brings people, priests and bishops together in mission. “Synodality”, according to Pope Francis, “is what the Lord expects of the Church of the third millennium.” The webinar offered a unique opportunity to hear about the hopes and dreams for the future of the Church in Australia, and the lessons it offers for global Catholicism.
